12/13: Deli Daze + Holidaze
Pastrami in the morning. Weed drinks in the evening.
Tomorrow is Deli Daze. We’ll start slicing pastrami at 10am and keep going until it’s gone. The brisket has been brined and smoked the way we always do it and served simply on rye with mustard. If you’ve been before, you already know the rhythm. If not, earlier is better.
These days tend to resolve themselves. The morning is focused and busy, with a steady run of sandwiches and familiar faces. By early afternoon, the boards are usually clear and the work is done. It’s part of why we keep Deli Daze occasional. Like the brisket, it’s best not overdone.
In the evening, we’ll shift gears. From 5–8pm, we’ll be dosing weed drinks and hosting a small holiday gathering. Nothing formal and nothing programmed. Just a chance to slow the day down, see some friends, and mark the season before the year fully closes in on itself.
Deli Daze + Holidaze is exactly what it sounds like. Food earlier. Drinks later. Two good reasons to stop by, whether you come for one or stay for both.
See you on the corner—
Steve
