Hash Fest & Hippy Wars
A salon on the movement that helped shape modern Taos
Tomorrow evening, we’re excited to host a salon at Bighorn featuring local author Cecilia Persephone Gregory and her new book, Hippy Wars.
I had the opportunity to read Hippy Wars last year while it was still in manuscript, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The book tells the remarkable story of the movement to return Blue Lake to Taos Pueblo, weaving together Indigenous history, the back-to-the-land movement, politics and the people who shaped modern Taos.
If you’ve ever wondered why Taos is the community it is today, this book offers an important piece of the answer.
Join us tomorrow, Friday, July 10 at 5pm, for an evening of conversation with Cecilia about her novel, the history behind it and the people who lived it. Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just arrived, it’s a story worth hearing.
To celebrate the occasion, we’re also holding a one-day Hash Fest sale with 20% off all hash products. It felt like an appropriate pairing. Taos has long been a place where ideas, community and cannabis culture have intersected, and we’re proud to provide a space where thoughtful conversations can happen.
Come for the salon. Stay for the conversation. Pick up some hash while you’re here.
We’ll see you at Bighorn.
